The Clinical Research Assistant is a member of the study team who under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s) provides support to the research team across various research duties including screening, recruitment, data collection, data entry, and sample coordinating to ensure protocol compliance and human subjects protection.

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida

Pay rate: $17.50-$19.50

Hours: Monday-Friday 20 hours per week


  1. Collect data from various sources including medical records and enter data into a research database to ensure accurate and timely data entry
  2. Support the study team in the development of study materials such as source documents, surveys, and questionnaires to streamline data collection and entry
  3. Support the study team with participant screening and recruitment including obtaining informed consent to ensure the participant understands the information prior to volunteering to participate
  4. Administer questionnaires and surveys to research participants under the direction of the Principal Investigator and/or Clinical Research Coordinator
  5. Support the study team in the monitoring of participants for adverse events and protocol deviations and report to study team to ensure proper reporting to sponsor and/or IRB
  6. Assist the study team in preparation for monitoring visits and audits and participate in the preventative and corrective action process (where applicable) to improve participant safety and protocol compliance
  7. Perform biospecimen collection, documentation and inventory management in inventory systems, distributes samples using correct labeling, handling, and packaging requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field
  • One year of health care or relevant experience
  • Preferred experience handling research biospecimens
  • Comfortable working with patient populations
  • Computer competency in using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to follow directions precisely
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic cross-disciplinary team environment
