What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will be responsible for working to ensure the effective provision of support to emergency teams by storing, stocking, receiving, shipping and maintaining disaster equipment and supplies.

Typical assignments include:

Planning, coordinating and evaluating logistical actions required to support the DC annex mission.
Provides oversight and management of full-service logistics support operations to include property and facility management, inventory management, property acquisition and disposal, physical receipt, custody and distribution of materials, and equipment maintenance on equipment such as emergency generators, vehicles, etc.
Serves in a leadership capacity with responsibility for directing the annex center's storage, warehousing, maintenance, transport and related logistics support programs.

What else do I need to know?

Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
