Campus Activities plays a key role within USC Student Life and the University. The Campus Activities department has a significant impact on the student experience for a campus of 49,500 students and is responsible for the advisement of Undergrad and Graduate Student governments, including their assemblies; overseeing the recognition process and success of over 1000 student organizations; and large-scale events including Late Night SC, Student Game Day Experience programs, the Trojan Welcome Experience, Grad Week, and Volunteer programs.


Position Overview and Description
The Assistant Coordinator role will assist Campus Activities in the implementation of student programs and services including but not limited to supporting student government, and campus events and programs. The coordinators will do the following:

Implement activities aimed at providing a robust student experienceComplete all purchases connected to the events being planned.Support department initiatives and goals for the yearServe as a member of the Campus Activities teamRegularly assess the events and services to ensure a connection to campus resources and a sense of belongingAdvise student leaders to implement elements of the student experienceCreate and distribute event advertisements through various social media platformsManage individual budgets tied to events and activities and reconcile appropriate expenditures

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree1 year experience in a student affairs or student life office -can be experience as a student worker

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in student affairs, student personnel administration, education, counseling, or related field1 Year experience in a student affairs or student life office

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.91 - $26.46. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
