Key Position Details:

  • Weekend Position - every Saturday and Sunday
  • .6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks)
  • Evening/Night shift schedule (12-Hour Shifts): 7p - 730a
  • Part time benefit eligible position

Job Description:

Provides indirect patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Medical Doctor of Anesthesiology. This includes cleaning, stocking of supplies and anesthesia equipment during room turnover in the Operating Room. May include handling and transport of uncontrolled medications.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Participates in Operating Room turnover
    • Cleans/decontaminates Anesthesia equipment after each use.
    • Replaces/restocks anesthesia related items.
    • Restocks anesthesia carts.
    • Engages in safe handling of gas cylinders and other supplies.
  • Performs quality control checks
    • Monitors for outdated supplies and equipment.
    • Performs daily operation test of defibrillator machines and crash carts/emergency equipment
    • Checks oxygen cylinders on patient carts.
  • Communicates with manager and team
    • Informs appropriate source regarding equipment or supply concerns.
    • Makes suggestions for workflow or other improvements.
    • Participates in orientation of new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous health care experience


Licenses/Certifications

  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Allina Health required within 90 days


Physical Demands

  • Medium Work*:
  • Lifting weightUp to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
