SCOR Global Life Americas Reinsurance Company seeks Associate Actuary, Financial Reporting and Analysis in Charlotte, NC to analyze quarterly financial information relating to seriatim and bulk life reinsurance business in accordance with Solvency II, IFRS, Statutory, US GAAP, and Tax principles.
- Support SGLA leadership in the analysis of IFRS17 for US Market.
- Liaise with SGLA's Financial Controller's team to understand the Adjusted Net Asset Value and explain variances between expected amounts and actual amounts.
- Liaise with SCOR's Life Risk Modeling team to understand and explain the impacts to Risk Margin, Own Funds, and Solvency Capital Requirement for individual SCOR entities as well as SCOR Group as a whole.
- Provide and explain Key Performance Indicators to key stakeholders in the US and across SCOR Group.
- Develop and review analyses as needed of financial results.
- Communicate insights to management on profitability by client, duration.
- Provide insights regarding financial results regarding statutory, GAAP, IFRS and tax methodology impacts and other factors.
- Support accounting, FP&A, data management divisions. and liaise with Corporate Actuarial team on insights from Finance team.
- Converse with the model development team in coding actuarial solutions to regulation changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Insurance or a related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience: programming, debugging, and running queries to manage large sets of data in relational database; extracting, transforming, and loading data as required for actuarial modeling processes & analytics in relational database; running, developing, and enhancing actuarial models
- Working with actuarial financial projection code used in actuarial models and run sample cells for analysis purposes
- Suggesting code enhancements to actuarial model development team
- Calculating, analyzing, and projecting results for economic reporting
- Communicating the quarterly story of reported figures across the analysis of change steps under economic reporting bases
- Analyzing results under best estimate and sensitivity scenarios for business
- 10% travel required nationally. Associate of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent require
