Manager, Mobile Engineering at Realtor.com ®
Location: Austin, TX
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a servant leader, highly motivated, and self-driven Manager, to lead a team of senior, highly motivated, high achieving iOS/Android engineers. This role is a key technical influencer and contributor through all stages of the software development lifecycle. You will be able to make an impact, leveraging your management skills, technical excellence and collaboration abilities to execute on broad cross-organization initiatives, producing industry-leading solutions. You will be a partner in designing and delivering the best solution for our consumers with product managers, designers and other engineering leaders.
What you'll do:

  • Guide mobile engineering teams to rapidly deliver value to our consumers and customers through Agile incremental implementation with high quality
  • Brings a strong perspective that inspires change and motivates engineers to develop simple solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and architects to define a technical roadmap and maintain the overall architectural integrity of the Move products
  • Construct and maintain an environment of safety, integrity, trust, high quality, and continuous improvement
  • Motivate the team and enthusiastically rally them around delivering against a wide variety of organizational initiatives
  • Foster a vibrant, growth-oriented environment for our high-achiever team.Hire and build an engaged and high performing team.


How we work

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum +4 years experience in leading software engineering teams in a technology company
  • Minimum +2 years of experience in leading mobile engineering teams
  • A strong results and outcome-driven focus, understanding the value derived from rapidly shipping code and learning/iterating on the results with technical excellence and quality
  • Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality
  • Strong communication skill and ability to influence decisions from a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor engineers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
  • Creating a strong culture of operational excellence with focus on raising the bar for quality, reliability and availability
  • Understanding of modern mobile architectures and libraries (MVVM, Swift, Kotlin, SwiftUI, Jetpack compose)
  • Strong empathy for our customers and a passion for exceeding their expectations, always
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement, sharing, and working in a team environment
  • Experience building native applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, Master's degree a plus
