Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced construction professional who specializes in Civil, Structural and Architectural (‘Core and Shell’) construction to work with a key technology client on a large-scale Data Center construction program.
Job Requirements:
Work effectively and negotiate costs with Contractors. Use the appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.). Perform all aspects of estimating, analysis and verification of contractor costs. Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process. Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final costs. Be a Team Player – support the Cost team, be flexible and maintain a positive attitude. Client interaction and communication, initiate and conduct stakeholder meetings.Pre-Contract
Review cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones. Provide commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises. Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.Post-Contract
Perform cost controls and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively. Ensure that cost auditing and valuation work is managed effectively and that a robust process for cost validation is in place. Carry out the production of monthly cost reports for presentation to the client. Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed in a timely manner. Compile as built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Technical work experience or college degree in Cost Estimating, Construction Management or related field. Data Center or relatable (i.e; industrial) construction experience is strongly preferred. Management experience is beneficial. Understanding of CSA cost estimating. Strong understanding of all civils, structural and architectural systems. Field experience is an advantage.Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is ** $110K-$140K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.**
