 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a member of the Division I bylaw team.
  • As a member of the Division I bylaw team, assist the membership, staff and other interested individuals and organizations in understanding NCAA Division I legislation and interpretations as well as through the conference contact program, committee support, written correspondence and in-person presentations (e.g., regional rules seminars, conference meetings).
  • Process Division I legislative relief waivers and assist member institutions in the waiver process.
  • Assist with Division I educational initiatives (e.g., online educational resource center, Division I University, regional compliance seminars and other educational materials).
  • Provide legislative support through drafting legislative proposals and associated legislative publications (e.g., question and answer documents), including collaboration with conference sponsors.
  • Represent the NCAA and AMA through presentations of educational materials at various staff, Association, conference and professional organizationâs seminars, workshops and meetings.
  • Assist with special projects that impact/involve AMA and each divisional governance structure.
  • Serve as a member of the Division I NIL team.
  • Assist director and associate director with third-party vendor requests related to the NIL platform.
  • Assist director and associate director with day-to-day responsibilities related to the NIL platform including:
    • Assist with the execution of the plan that provides for the educational needs of external constituent members (student-athlete, compliance administrators, coaches, and other stakeholders)
    • Support development of and revisions to policies, procedures, training and technical documentation related to administration of NIL Platform.
    • Monitor, manage, coordinate, respond, and resolve, as appropriate, issues reported by the membership and staff related to NIL platform.
    • Contribute to issue resolution, planning, and ongoing development of NIL platform via enhancement and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Process Division I name, image and likeness interpretative and waiver cases and assist with staff assignments.
  • Provide NIL interpretative and legislative expertise and support in the following areas:
    • Requests/Self-Reports Online;
    • Conference contact program;
    • Committee support;
    • Legislative work;
    • In-person presentations;
    • Working with key stakeholders on pending issues; and
    • Other areas as assigned.
  • Assist associate director and director with internal engagement and identifying NIL issues for communication to the offices of legal affairs, public media relations, enforcement, eligibility center, Divisions II and III, communications and governmental relations.
  • Assist with external engagement, development and outreach (e.g., student-athletes, compliance administrators).
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of NIL education and resources.
  • Other duties may be assigned, depending on the candidate selected.

Job Requirements    

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred.
  • Two years of full-time professional experience in intercollegiate athletics, higher education administrator or the legal profession required.
  • Preferred demonstrated working knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Estimated Travel Required
