Role Overview

The Product Development Manager, Footwear manages high-level product development of footwear categories to support the Production team. This role is responsible for ensuring all milestones are met and all cross-functional partners follow the development calendar. This role is primarily focused on Footwear, but will support the development and production for all accessories, including handbags.

Essential Duties

Oversee sourcing of all materials- leathers, fabrics, trims Track all development submits and samples, upon receipt review for accuracy. Develop styles to hit margin targets for each category, highlight pricing concerns during the development process. Manage daily correspondence with factories for both PD & Production Attend all proto fittings and take development notes. Catalog and maintain a record of all fabric materials, organize approved submits & bulk approvals at the end of each season. Create style numbers and maintain BOMs. Oversee development numbers, ensuring that lineplan is executed. Help maintain and update development & production WIP. Ensure company systems are maintained with product details. Communicate with internal departments on key dates and production updates. Ensure SMS and production hits target deliveries. Updating WIP, T&A calendars and costing worksheets on a daily basis. Enter, maintain and organize vendor purchase orders, ensuring accuracy within ERP systems and seasonal reporting. Facilitate daily communication with vendors and suppliers on status to ensure correct production and on-time delivery.

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, & Education

Bachelor’s degree in business-related field preferred; High School diploma or G.E.D. required Minimum of 5 years of product development experience required. Footwear experience is a MUST, Handbag experience is a bonus but not required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and is open to change. Ability to adapt to new situations quickly. Entrepreneurial & resourceful with creative problem-solving skills. Exhibit personal leadership and strategic mindset. Experience working with factories and mills directly. Robust communication skills both internally and externally. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal English communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate and interact with people of all levels in a confident and professional manner. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to function is a high-paced, changing, growth focused environment. Possesses a strong business sense and can decipher priorities and make sound judgment calls on a routine basis. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Ability to work flexible hours as dictated by the needs of business for projects and meetings.

Physical and Mental Requirements
