Urban Roots Brewery and Smokehouse is looking for a dynamic and driven Catering and Event

Sales Director to lead and expand our offsite, delivery, and catering business. This role will

focus on growing our catering segment through both inbound and outbound sales efforts.

Outbound responsibilities include building new business relationships, seeking out external

event opportunities, and promoting our "Catering to You"initiative.

Inbound responsibilities involve prioritizing large events such as barrel-room gatherings and

buyouts, ensuring a smooth transition to the team, and attending events to generate leads and

connect with potential clients.

Support and embody the values of Urban Roots Brewery and Smokehouse.

Relationship Building and Sales Development:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and event planners to drive catering sales.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and community gatherings to promote Urban Roots’ catering and event services.
  • Identify and pursue new catering opportunities through proactive outreach, sales calls, and targeted marketing efforts.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop and execute promotional materials and campaigns that enhance catering service awareness.
  • Utilize social media, email marketing, and community partnerships to expand the reach of Urban Roots; catering offerings and attract new clients.

Compliance and Permitting:

  • Serve as the lead on all matters related to Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) laws, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with ABC representatives, the City of Sacramento, and local police to expedite permits and manage alcohol service regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or catering/event management.
  • Strong understanding of the food and beverage industry.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, including Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) laws, is a plus.
