Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse, following the scope and standards of professional nursing practice, provides comprehensive patient-family centered care addressing potential and actual health and illness problems for patients and families.
A Registered Nurse, who, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/ Director, has continual opportunity to exercise initiative and independent professional judgment, uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient centered nursing care for assigned patients; and as a primary member of a nursing care team, guides and monitors work of paraprofessional and other team members. This care is performed as a part of a customer focused, service oriented team that incorporates the values of Mills Peninsula Health Services in a confidential environment. The Registered Nurse integrates the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Patients' Bill of Rights, Professional Scope and Standards of Practice and pertinent Specialty Standards into his or her nursing practice.

RN-Registered Nurse of California BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider EXPERIENCESufficient previous clinical experience in nursing
Staff Nurse II: Registered Nurse who has completed a total of twelve full-time months nursing experience in an acute hospital or comparable clinical area within the last three years.
Staff Nurse I: California Registered Nurse with less than 12 full-time equivalent months total experience in an acute hospital or comparable clinical area.
Staff Nurse I may be reclassified to Staff Nurse II upon completion of six months' service with Mills-Peninsula Health Services. Three months' prior work experience may count as part of this six months if a nurse's overall acute hospital or comparable clinical area experience totals a minimum of six months within the three years prior to employment at MPHS. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of the pathophysiology, common treatments, medications, complications and prevention strategies for area of clinical practiceKnowledge of QSEN Competencies: Quality and Patient Safety Education core nursing competenciesThorough knowledge of nursing process and/or surgical proceduresThorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiologyDemonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote effective with patient/families and staff interactionsAble to navigate electronic health record (EHR) and successfully complete competencyIntravenous treatments, wound care and medication administration skills at competent levelDemonstrates flexibility , self-motivationMust be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written EnglishMust have visual and hearing acuity Pay Range: 70.64-70.64

Pay Range is $74.60 to $74.60 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
