Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Performs regular field inspections of workplaces, processes, products, and other systems and materials for compliance with applicable safety and occupational health policies, standards, and industry best practices including, but not limited to EM 385-1-1, DoDI, DoDM, OSHA in Construction and General Industry, ANSI, and ACGIH. Assists with incident and accident investigation and reporting for RRMC and Mission Partner personnel.
Maintains detailed digital records, and generates technical reports, of all inspections, investigations, and findings. Includes hazard tracking, development of corrective action plans, and distribution of reports within allotted times to all applicable parties.
Reviews contract safety and occupational health submittals, such as risk analyses and work plans, for compliance with contract safety requirements and applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. Prepares detailed work plans and risk analyses, in direct coordination with RRMC and Mission Partner personnel, for in-house activities.
Contributes to identifying needs and in the development and execution of safety and occupational health programs (updates to existing and preparation of new) to meet changing facility needs and mission requirements. Communicates changes to and coordinates with RRMC, Mission Partner, other federal agencies, contracting authorities, and stakeholders.
Provides subject matter expertise as well as instruction (including classroom and hands-on) training module development and delivery, on safety and occupational health topics including, but not limited to scaffolding and fall protection, mining and naturally-occurring asbestos, trenching and excavation, tower climbing, hazardous and regulated materials, and confined spaces.
Duties are executed in diverse and challenging environments (e.g. indoor office spaces, unconditioned industrial area, active outdoor all-weather/season construction sites, permit-required confined spaces, asbestos regulated areas, etc.) that require use of personal protective equipment, including but not limited to Level C and D, personal fall protection systems, personal retrieval devices, and under conditions that may also require personal monitoring.
