Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Generics Marketing Product Manager for our Lakeville, Minnesota corporate office.


Job Summary:

The essential functions of this position are to be the subject matter expert for our generic vendors and oversee day to day generics marketing efforts. This includes but is not limited to introducing new products or enhancing exposure to existing products we carry by developing concepts and design for promotions and spiff incentives, develop training tactics alongside of the sales trainer; develop marketing campaigns for email marketing to our customer base. Working directly with generic manufacturers you will use reporting tools to identify areas for growth and promote products and their features to our sales teams and veterinary customers.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop innovative concepts and design for digital and printed materials including advertising and presentations for the generic products we carry. Create and execute monthly campaigns, including website, advertising support, email marketing and content calendar management, product marketing communications as well as spiff and promotional creation by direct contact with the generic manufacturers, sales management, and product purchasers. Grow the generics pipeline for Midwest Veterinary Supply and discuss with our vendor partners by using research to determine our needs.
  • Assure brand standards are consistently met for our manufacture partners. Ensure consistent and cohesive design and formats across all collateral and web/multimedia projects. Analyze marketing campaign effectiveness and cost analysis to improve product movement. Use reporting tools and vendor connections to track engagement and analyze campaign success as well as make recommendations on areas for optimization. Research competitive markets and develop go to market strategies. Collaborate with Product purchasing team to ensure sufficient products are being ordered for promotional campaigns and notated in reporting tools.
  • Focus on goal attainment. Collaborate with the Midwest Veterinary Supply sales trainer to create educational product sales training tools in Brainshark; then monitor sales and revenue of these products. Maintain a positive culture of learning. Transparency with leadership on social media strategy and execution of campaigns, supporting the overall company strategy and culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • HS diploma/GED requirement
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or marketing preferred.
  • 3+ years of Product or Program Marketing management required with significant proven experience, preferably in the Generic pharmaceutical or veterinary distribution industry; decision making skills and analytical skills important to do the job effectively.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; public speaking skills expected.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as planning, time-management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proactive ability to execute and follow-through with tasks and communication
  • Ability to work well with others and independently; Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask; Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and problem solve; Strong attention to detail; Strong project management and customer service skills.


Mental & Physical Demands:

  • Attention to detail critical to ensure accuracy and completion of objectives; Regular interaction with people, team-player; Fast pace of work, requires multi-tasking
  • Repetitive motion: Frequent use of a telephone, listening and speaking; Ability to work at a desk throughout the day; Frequent use of hands for writing and computer keyboard

Equipment Used:

General office equipment: Laptop or desktop computer, phone, iPad, proficient in Office Windows, Excel, Adobe, reporting package Cognos and marketing software HubSpot experience a plus but can be taught.


Work Environment:

Work will be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday and may require overtime. (This is a remote position)
