What role you will play in our team

The Contracts Engineer is a technical position in ExxonMobil Global Projects Company that leads the development and implementation of EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contracting strategies, ITTs (Invitation to Tender), qualification, evaluation, selection and implementation of contracts in the Select and Define stages of major capital projects.

What you will do
-Contracting Strategy development including Work Breakdown Structures.
-Ensure relevant contractor information, market intelligence and lessons learned on previous projects are reviewed and used to optimize project contracting strategies.
-Develop Contracting Plans for each EPC scope consistent with the overall Contracting Strategy
-Provide guidance and leadership in contractor screening and qualification, bid slate development, bidding and evaluation of proposals for project contracting activities.
-Lead the commercial evaluation as a member of the Bid Review Team, ensure commercial impacts of any contractual or technical/execution issues are understood and accurately reflected in final total evaluated cost and contract price.
-Organize technical evaluation, select team members and bring together results of commercial and technical evaluations together into final award recommendation.
-Lead and manage the project contract development process, including application of appropriate templates, development of attachments / exhibits, scope of work, coordination procedures, terms and conditions negotiations.
-Ensure all contract documents, exhibits and functional review requirements are complete and accurate for scope, develops contract risk & mitigation plans.
-Develop and lead internal kick-off meeting with project team personnel to ensure contract understanding, review contract terms and conditions, change order process, and claims avoidance.
-Develop materials for external kick-off meetings with contractor personnel to review key clauses of the Principal Document, Coordination Procedure, contract deliverables, change order process, business practices, etc.
-Document and hand over Contract Administration responsibilities to executing project team..

About You

Skills and Qualifications
 

-2+ years of contract development experience with Project Owner or EPC company
-B.S. in Engineering or Commercial field
 

Preferred Skills 

-Experience on upstream, downstream (manufacturing, chemical) or midstream (pipeline) projects beneficial.  
-General knowledge of project management gate-stage processes.  
-General knowledge of other disciplines in major capital projects (cost & schedule engineering, project controls, construction management, procurement, materials management, installation, etc.).
