About the Role:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Intake Coordinator.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to provide intermediate-level intake and administrative services for patients being admitted to the hospital or receiving outpatient services.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain demographic information
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain insurance authorization
- Input patient registration information into computer system
- Provide accurate information to patients and outside entities
- Discuss financial arrangements with patients and family members
- Direct patients to correct locations and arrange patient transport
- Maintain patient charts and inventory of supplies
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Serve as an onboarding resource for new patient services staff
Education Qualification:
- High School diploma or GED
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of patient registration procedures and documentation -
- Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures
- Skill in using personal computers and software applications
- Interpersonal and customer service skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain patient demographic information and verify insurance eligibility
