Job Overview

 

This is a skilled position requiring the individual to manage a variety of functions related to the Transportation/Logistic operations within Jack B Parson Co. The individual must have a strong understanding of the Ready Mix business, including batching, Ready mix Deliveries, Command Track and Trackit experience a plus. The Shipper will be responsible for maintaining efficient logistic operations. Position reports to the Dispatch Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare & direct drivers daily activities
  • Manage Same Day Orders for various project and operations
  • Must be customer service oriented, both internally and externally
  • Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped
  • Identify Logistic Opportunities
  • Coordinate deliveries with company truck drivers to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers
  • Maintain professional demeanor in stressful conditions
  • Be able and willing to work flexible hours including overtime
  • Reliable attendance is essential to performance in this role
  • Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 Requirements/Education/Experience
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience in related function
  • Ready Mix back ground or Construction/Transportation Related Experience preferred
  • Must be able to effectively multitask
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • mathematical and communication skills

 

 Physical Environment
 

  • May require additional lifting of up to 25lbs
  • Endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
