Our L.L.Bean warehouses are filled with highly trained employees who attend to daily important tasks that help us get our goods on their way to customers quickly and accurately. Some retrieve inventory or pack goods for shipment, while others process returns or move merchandise with heavy machinery. These team members work hard, stay mindful of safety, and share some fun along the way. All our jobs require the ability to understand, speak, and read basic English along with having a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

All positions in the Warehouse involve physical demands, necessitating standing, walking, bending, and crouching. The work is labor-intensive.

Employees in the Warehouse play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility. Walking briskly from one aisle to another, carefully bending to pick up items, and occasionally crouching to reach lower shelves are all part of a typical day. These physical demands not only keep the employees active but also contribute to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Pay ranges:

$20.00-$24.00/hr depending on position

​​Availability:

• Must be available for at least 18 hours per week
• Must be available for at least 3 shifts per week (Three 6-hour shifts = 18hrs minimum)
• Must be at least 18 years old.

  All available positions:

  Picking – Use a hand-held scanner and mobile task device, collect selected units into totes and transfer to conveyor belts.

  3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am Days of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)

  • Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems.
  • Ability to walk entire shift, between 6-8 miles, and use a step ladder.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English.
  • Physical demands- Walk /stand entire shift. Frequently lift up to 10lbs. Climb ladders and stairs to access upper shelves, crouching to access lower shelf. Weight limit for pick carts is 300-350lbs.

    Pack Monogramming – Primary job is to safely operate a computerized monogramming machine used to personalize items for customers. May also be trained in Pack Seasonal job as needed per business conditions.

    3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am Days of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)​

    • Basic math, measuring skills, and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English.
    • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new application quickly.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Constantly rethread needles, required to wear safety glasses for entire shift.
    • Differentiate colors, symbols, and numerals.
    • Physical demands - Stand entire shift. Lift/carry totes weighing 20-30 lbs. from conveyance to the working surface on a frequent basis.

      Material Handler – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Stack pallets and move workstation replenishment supplies. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases.

      3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am Days of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)​

      • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English.
      • Able to perform basic computer functions alone.
      • Physical demands – Stand/Walk entire shift (approx. 9 miles). Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat, repeatedly. Climb ladders and stairs. Pull pallet jack. Push U-boats Carry and lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 54” overhead frequently.

        Stocking – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases up to 50 lbs., cut cases with knife, offload and stack cases, transfer U-boats full of cases. Induct cases onto belt using vacuum assist device.

        3rd Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30amDays of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)

        • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read basic English.
        • Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with ability to learn new computer systems.
        • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
        • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
        • Physical demands- Stand/Walk entire (approx. 9 miles) Lift up to 50 lbs. over-head frequently. Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat, repeatedly.

          Machine Operator – Safely and accurately perform various duties on an Order Picker machine including putting away, pulling, and stocking cases, retrieving individual orders, transferring totes to conveyor belts, and other related duties.

          3rd Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30amDays of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)

          • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English.
          • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
          • Able to perform basic computer and machine skills alone and learn new systems.
          • Multitask, change tasks frequently, strong attention to detail.
          • Previous experience with machines in a warehouse preferred/not required.
          • Full availability preferred.
          • Comfortable working at heights and in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
          • Physical demands-Stand entire shift. Maximum operator height of 6’4”and minimum operator height of 5’3”. Machine harnesses are rated to a maximum operator weight of 400 lbs.Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.Will work at heights.

            Merch Prep - The Prep Work position includes skills in our Picking, Packing, and Returns departments. Collecting orders for the warehouse, packing them for shipment, and helping prep returned items for restocking.

            3rd Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30amDays of Operations: Sunday – Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)

            • Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read basic English.
            • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly.
            • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
            • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently.
            • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
            • Physical demands - Stand/Walk entire shift. Pull/glide tote weighing up to 35 lbs. from belt at 42 inches from the floor to a tilted tote holder.Reach over shoulder repeatedly.
