Distribution Associate - 1st Shift

Our focus is on innovation and excellence, and we are excited to announce an opportunity with one of our clients, a metal fabrication company based in Freeport, Illinois. This company specializes in the manufacturing of metal products, such as shear panels, roll-formed products, and metal building systems.

As a Distribution Associate, you will play a key role in preparing, organizing, and moving material for stock and shipment. You will work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service.


What youll be doing:

  • Safely load, unload, and move material within or near the plant/shop floor and racks
  • Open and sort containers using cutting tools
  • Weigh out material and prepare shipments according to customer instructions
  • Lift objects by hand (up to 50 lbs) or using a sit-down/stand-up forklift
  • Assemble crates to contain products for shipments
  • Maintain up-to-date location changes of all material


Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Physical ability to drive a forklift (50% of the time) and perform standing, walking, bending, and lifting tasks (49% of the time)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
