The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Coordinator of Athletic Events or Senior Coordinator of Athletic Events. The position will be filled at the Coordinator or Sr. Coordinator (Director of Athletic Events) level depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.  

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate events that take place in Athletic facilities in coordination with Operations and Facilities peers in the preparation and use of university athletic facilities for practices and events while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.

Essential Functions
-Serve as liaison to public safety, parking services, other campus departments, outside agencies, promoters and visiting teams for Athletic events held in athletic venues.
-Assist with coordination of facility set-up and game-day operations, scheduling of the facilities for team and group usage and assist with set-up and tear down of physical facilities. 
-Serves as the event manager for all assigned sports/events. Coordinate all efforts to ensure all parties are empowered to conduct their functions during events held in athletic venues. Troubleshoot and problem solve to reduce disruption. 
-May supervise set-up of table, chairs, stages, platforms, lighting, etc., in athletic facilities. 
-May coordinate vehicle rentals for athletic events and/or team transportation. Inspect equipment and facilities to assure proper use and maintenance.
-May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or students.
-May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). 
-Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
-Bachelor’s Degree.
-Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.

Required Experience

One (1) year related work experience, which can include student or other part-time experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

The position requires evening and weekend hours.
