Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12, next lower grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: Planning, conducting, and reporting on a full range of criminal investigations to protect an organization's, personnel, property, facilities, or information. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Selectee must meet the established experience, basic training, and in-service training requirements established for the enforcement of police powers. Selectee must complete in-service requirements and weapons qualification for the enforcement of arrest authority as conferred under 40 U.S.C 1315 authority. Selectee may be required to work overtime and shift work. This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968, which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
