Kuehne+Nagel is looking for an Export Dock Clerk in Haltom City, Texas, who is organized and can easily transition throughout the workday from the warehouse floor to a desk or office area. This is a startup site so it requires a great deal of flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change is a must. Your Role You will work with shippers, truckers, and customers for the export of shipments. You will arrange for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation, forwarding, and follow-up with tracking and tracing to the final destination. Initially, you will be trained on Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Once you complete your training, you will work Friday, 4:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm. The wage is $22.50 per hour with weekly pay. Your Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with shippers and truckers for the export of shipments
  • Prepare documentation including Bill of Lading (BOLs) invoicing, certificate of origin, and export declaration or AES
  • Maintain communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier, and operations by phone and emails
  • Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability
  • Maintain SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings, services, and carriers
  • Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to operations
  • Read and work in accordance with quality management work instructions 
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies against client SOPs
Your Skills and Experiences
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in air freight or export shipping
  • Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries and major cities
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. Administration Regulations (FAA, FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other government agency requirements
