Summary

North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Primary Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Primary Care). Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

The Physician (Primary Care)Provides comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients in the primary care clinic Evaluates and treats male and female patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions and provides preventive health to both male and female veterans. Women's health experience and teaching experience are required. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • The Primary Care Physician will complete vesting appointments for new patients when access levels dictate it necessary.
  • The Primary Care Physician will also utilize technology (i.e. Telehealth video conferencing) and the use of telephone visits when necessary.
  • The Primary Care Physician will be expected to perform the full range of duties to include but not limited to: Physical exams, ordering laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests.
  • The incumbent is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards of care, core values and with a commitment to excellence.
  • The incumbent will utilize electronic medical records in accordance with NF/SG VHS policy and other regulatory bodies.
  • The incumbent is expected to participate in staff meetings, educational activities, administrative and other duties as assigned.
  • The incumbent must be proficient in spoken and written English and must meet all requirements for the position.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
(Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
