Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Charlotte site is looking for a new Drayage Specialist to join our Sea Logistics team. Your Role Reporting to the National Sea Logistics Drayage Manager you will be responsible for the oversight of pricing proposals to support both current and potential customers for all equipment types of over the road truckload transportation. Using tools like Microsoft Excel and other data analytics tools to perform high-level data analysis is required in the Pricing Analyst position. Demonstrating a working knowledge of Drayage operations, regional market conditions, and effective data analysis the Supervisor will coordinate with the pricing team to generate effective pricing solutions to both new and existing customers. Effective delivery of these solutions is dependent on an extensive knowledge of logistics pricing concepts, methodologies, and a high level of proficiency with MS Excel, and other industry leading bid platforms among other tools. You will work in a diverse, dynamic environment to develop and implement pricing strategy for one of the largest freight forwarders. You will have the opportunity to digest market data and test pricing theories to provide win-win pricing to our customers. You will partner will a variety of stakeholders within the North American Trade Management team, as well as with global teams from Asia to Europe, to win in the market and achieve sustainable growth. Your Responsibilities
  • You will support and coordinate pricing efforts with the US and MX pricing teams.
  • Develop contractual pricing proposals for customers in a wide variety of business verticals
  • You will collaborate with key sales and operations personnel to help determine pricing strategy on bids across all equipment types and specs.
  • Utilize high-level Microsoft Excel skills to analyze key market rate points across multiple data sources.
  • Apply information from leading industry market data sources appropriately within final proposals
  • You will collaborate Operations on qualified RFPs for potential sourcing support
  • Assist in providing lane level benchmark interpretation & analysis to recommend price points on key lanes & specialty solutions with stringent operational requirements
  • Assist in developing and enhancing benchmark data, pricing tools, and processes
  • Maintain pricing request pipeline and related weekly reporting
  • Adhere to all policies listed in the KN US Guidelines
Your Skills and Experiences
  • 1+ years of Sea Logistics experience
  • 2+ years of logistics pricing experience, preferably Domestic Over the Road
  • You have the ability to work onsite 5 days per week
  • High level Microsoft Excel skillset
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau and MS Access
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment operating with strict deadlines
  • Experience with Drayage operations (customer or carrier facing) is a plus

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
