Serves as the BLM Safety and Health Program Manager for northern Alaska supporting both the Fairbanks/Arctic Districts and subordinate field offices.
Technical lead for all aspects of the Safety and Occupational Health Program covering complex activities in extremely remote, rural and urban settings.
Develops and implements policies and wok practices to ensure safe and efficient operations within both Districts for employees and the public.
Provides safety guidance and oversight of hazardous materials, heavy equipment, wildland and prescribed fire mining activities, aviation activities, off-road vehicles, watercraft, and non-law enforcement firearms.
Provides safety guidance for hazardous wilderness activities such as: use of snowmachines, cross-country skiing, off-road activities, rafting, boating, hiking and mountain biking where standard safety criteria are not published.
