Duties

This Supervisory Executive Advisor position is located Security Operations (SO), Administrative Services (AS), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
Directs and coordinates the efforts of other professionals in multidisciplinary studies of extraordinary importance to the EAA/DEAA and for TSA as an agency. Oversees and integrates planning efforts to accomplish various phases of project requirements concurrently or sequentially. Variables considered often cross disciplinary lines requiring effectiveness in strategic planning and the ability to define objectives, develop innovative approaches, provide oversight and communicate roles and team expectations and requirements effectively. Attends high level strategic policy meetings on behalf of the EAA/DEAA and ensures projects are completed timely. Serves as liaison for the EAA/DEAA with counterparts within TSA, as well as DHS and other intergovernmental committees and working groups. Attends meetings, conferences, and high level briefings on behalf of the EAA/DEAA and briefs leadership regarding significant results and developments. Qualifications

To qualify for the SV-K Pay Band (equivalent to GS-15), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-J or GS-14 Pay Band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialize experience is defined as:
Knowledge of transportation security laws, rules, regulation, policies, precedents, and operations as well as organizational relationships among TSA components and with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), other Federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations to provide expert advice and guidance to the EAA and DEAA in a wide range of management operations. Ability to plan, direct, and carry out long-range and highly complex policy studies, projects, or program analyses that address broad organizational issues that significantly impact key TSA strategic objectives and operations. Knowledge of project management and executive principles, concepts, and theories and staff leadership and organizational effectiveness principles to serve as an authoritative resource to the EAA and DEAA. Ability to perform a variety of supervisory duties and responsibilities including planning and coordinating both routine and complex work to be accomplished through assigning work, setting priorities and performance standards, reviewing, and evaluating work and performance of subordinates, coaching, and developing employees, approving leave, and recommending and/or approving disciplinary actions. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
