Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our inpatient specialty Cardiothoracic Transplant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care settings, cardiology, thoracic surgery, or transplant medicine, and a passion for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients in the cardiothoracic transplant unit, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures.
- Perform advanced clinical procedures within the scope of practice, including central line placements, intubations, and other invasive interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on transplant processes, post-operative care, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery.
- Participate in daily rounds, team meetings, and case conferences to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care certification.
- Previous experience in acute care, cardiology, thoracic surgery, or transplant medicine preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
