General Summary

The Field Service Technician is a traveling mechanic responsible for troubleshooting and repairing water well drilling and pump installation equipment.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Testing and repairing water well equipment by travelling to the location of the customer
  • Providing troubleshooting as well performing installation of equipment
  • Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required
  • Performing the confirmation that the equipment is functional
  • Sometimes providing telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting
  • Providing onsite water well services for individuals as well as organizations
  • Ensuring that the equipment on which they have performed troubleshooting are in proper working condition

Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Certification
  • Must have a valid driver's license. CDL A license preferred and will be needed within first 90 days.
  • NCCCO Crane Operator certification

Work Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as water well operator and/or field technician experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to travel long distances and be away from home for 1 - 2 weeks at a time
  • Needs to possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Must have good customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain good relations with customers
  • Should have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to manage service calls
  • Strong communication skills and team oriented mentality for collaborating with Project Management and Sales teams.
  • Must keep good field notes and provide necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely fashion
  • Welding and machining skills are a plus - manual mill and lathe

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
