Description
Reporting to the Director of Event Management, the Senior Accounts Specialist provides a full range of duties at a senior level to the departments of Event Management, Conference Services and Audio Visual.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Processes the monthly budget transfers based on current invoices.
- Assists in maintaining a yearly spreadsheet of revenue and chargebacks.
- Prepares, tracks, and processes payment for purchase orders for the various departments.
- Assists with preparing correspondences for the department as needed.
- Responsible for the operation of the credit card machine, charging, batching out, and reconciliation of the account.
- Prepares deposits and delivers to Memorial Hall as needed.
- Assists with monitoring all department accounts on Banner and confirms they are current and correct.
- Prepares budget transfers as needed.
- Orders and maintains office supplies and summer specialty supplies for the department.
- May perform other duties not specifically identified above, but which require the same degree of skills, and which are normally included within the above job title.
Hours: Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with database systems such as Banner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive with strong attention to detail.
- Must be customer service oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with database systems such as 25 Live, Iris, WebTMA preferred.

Salary/Salary Range
$49,111

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
