The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.   

The manager of learning & development will implement the organization's training and development strategy so that the skills and performance of employees meet the organization's current and future needs.

What Youâll Work On

  • Direct all training and development activities to ensure they are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization's policies and standards.
  • Analyze and identify the training and development needs of employees.
  • Develop an overall training plan to meet the current and planned HR requirements of the organization.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and curriculum so skills and performance of employees meet the organizationâs requirements.
  • Liaise with area managers to develop and implement training and development plans that are appropriate for their business needs and consistent with the overall training strategy.
  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with internal consultants, training managers as well as business leaders to meet development needs.
  • Manage areaâs training budget and report out monthly on status.
  • Manage area metrics and provide monthly and quarterly analysis.
  • Participate and at times manage annual regional and global goals.
  • Adhere to the data governance process to ensure accuracy, deliver data in a timely manner plus tell the regions story and strategy.
  • Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so the organizationâs training activities remain relevant.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of training professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorâs degree required. Advanced degree in HR, L&D, I/O Psychology or related field preferred.
  • 4+  years of experience in training leadership
  • Experience creating development plans and executing them.
  • Experience working in large, complex global organizations, different HR models and in a matrixed organization structure.
  • Experience working within or managing a global team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in adult learning, assessments, and development preferred.
  • Intermediate Spanish is preferred

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 â $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
