Plans, tracks, and coordinates training programs based on organizational and employee and needs. Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders and customers on behalf of the organization. Conducts interviews/surveys and other data gathering to analyze training needs and evaluates training effectiveness.
Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional teams/projects; and/or organizational and lines. Typical duties include the following: providing guidance to less-experienced professionals; leading teams/projects; designing and recommending solutions to complex recommendations problems. Coordinates and supports subject matter experts that develop and facilitate professional training, learning initiatives, and training recommendations for specific disciplines. Understands and provides solutions for business problems through the application and support of principles of adult learning, instructional design and development. Leads small project/program teams; designs and recommends solutions to complex problems; prepares and reviews management reports and/or processes to improve operational efficiency.
Independently plans time. Identifies, plans and organizes available resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. Makes optimal use of resources to complete activities within established schedules. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or develop new approaches.
Oversees administrative activities associated with the development and updating of instructional material. Participates in the evaluation and confirmation of learning objectives through ongoing needs assessments. Performs design, development, execution, and evaluation. Provides consultation to management and stakeholders for the development of job specific training, including research and evaluation and selection of outside consultants and trainers. Tracks and manages metric reporting and analysis.
Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professionals. Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues. Works with management and/or more experienced professionals to solve problems.
Work is reviewed rarely, typically through status reports and at project completion, to ensure compliance and alignment with the requirements of the project or other work activity. Work activities typically impact directly on the objectives of one or more organizational units, major subdivisions and LOBs/SOs and may affect the objectives of the FAA.
