Cardiology Clinic

The Cardiology Clinic manages care for patients 18 and older. The areas of focus include general cardiology, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, cardiac surgery, cardiac transplants, anticoagulation, genetic counseling, and cardiac device management. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the CMA to the area's policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.

Shifts: Day Shift, No weekends

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required
  • Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
  • Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience
