Description

The Lead Cage Cashier performs cage cashiering and main bank duties while providing direction, training, and assistance to Cage staff. The Lead Cage Cashier provides leadership and training to Cage staff while overseeing a range of financial operations. The Lead Cage Cashier directs and assists with staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions, and handle cash, checks, wagering tickets, and gaming chips from patrons. Key responsibilities also include preparing cash drawer reconciliations, maintaining accurate records such as the Bank Roll Issue Log, and verifying cashier banks. The Lead Cage Cashier also services the Recycler and Ticket Redemption Machines, processes department fills, credits, and bank reimbursements, and manages jackpot payouts with precise documentation. Additionally, the Lead Cage Cashier counts and maintains department tokes, handles cash revenue, prepares checks and deposits, replenishes cash to Cage windows, and ensure the Cage Main Bank is balanced. The role includes overseeing the closure of the gaming day for various departments, ensuring the security of cash drawers and cage facilities, assisting in resolving customer challenges, and supporting other front-line cage functions as needed.

Starting wage is $26.48/hr plus tips increasing to $27.58/hr plus tips at successful completion of 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Two years’ cash handling and check cashing experience required. One year cage or related gaming experience required. Must be able to pass a cage cashier test. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

The Lead Cage Cashier must possess a solid understanding of basic casino operations and policies, including the handling and exchanging of various monetary instruments, department procedures, and compliance with SAR and Title 31 regulations. The role requires proficiency in basic math, the operation of computers and 10-key calculators, cash handling, and cash drawer reconciliation. The Lead Cage Cashier should be skilled in exceptional customer service, accurate record-keeping, and the exchange and reconciliation of cash, checks, tickets, and gaming chips. Key abilities include effectively communicating both verbally and in writing, processing and verifying fill and credit transactions, maintaining accurate records, and managing cage equipment. Additionally, the Lead Cage Cashier will be responsible for receiving and logging department revenue, preparing checks and deposits, balancing the main bank, and ensuring the smooth operation of all cash-related activities. This position works under the supervision of the Cage Shift Manager, may take direction from the Sr Cage Shift Manager, and does not supervise.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

Must be able to pass a pre-employment illegal drug screen and obtain a Class IIIA license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
