The Sr. Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for assisting with the preparation of both internal and external financial reporting for the Company, including SEC reporting. Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare both internal and external financial reporting, including financial statements and related footnotes.
- Technical Accounting: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting changes, including both GAAP and SEC requirements, and assist in evaluation of accounting treatment and disclosure requirements. Perform GAAP research and assist with preparation of technical accounting memos as needed.
- General Ledger Close Cycle: Apply accounting techniques to the recording of financial transactions for assigned areas in support of an accurate financial close cycle.
- Collaboration: Collaborate across teams throughout the organization to support compilation of complete and accurate data for financial reporting purposes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Prepare complex journal entries and financial reports (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in a public accounting or industry financial reporting role. Previous experience with Workiva software is a plus. Previous experience in a retail environment and use of SAP is a plus. Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, TM1, or Tableau is a plus but not required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
Extensive knowledge of SEC requirements, GAAP and new accounting pronouncements. Proficiency using Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel. Ability to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completionWorking Conditions
