We have a career opportunity for an experienced transportation engineer to be part of an established service line in Texas focused on enhancing transportation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have the expertise or an interest in furthering their career focus on planning, engineering design of transportation infrastructure for public agencies. The successful candidate will prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related to a variety of transportation projects. Project Engineers also mentor and supervise the work of technical support personnel assigned to the project. In this role you will work on a flex basis.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Developing detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design
  • Collaborating with team members, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs to develop plans
  • Compiling and coordinating plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items
  • Supporting studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals
  • Working with various disciplines and reviewers to ensure complete, accurate, and high-quality deliverables
  • Manage project tasks, and assisting Project Managers in overall project delivery
  • Manage and maintain project documentation

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
  • 15+ years of experience in transportation engineering
  • Experience working with Local and State public agency clients (Public Works, DOTs, etc.)
  • Proficient with ORD design software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Texas Professional Engineer license
  • Project experience in transportation engineering design (preferred)
