Job Description:
The Outbound Engagement Specialist will help guide consumers who have applied for educational financing with Ascent. Drawing from your existing experience in a fast-paced, multifaceted customer service environment, you will work closely with Loan Operations in identifying key populations of individuals to perform high-volume calling campaigns through Ascent’s loan acceptance process. Your key focus area would make outbound calls to potential borrowers to go over the Ascent benefits and services we offer with our loan products.
We are looking for three Outbound Engagement Specialists to join our team in the heart of downtown San Diego, CA working a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Responsibilities:

  • Provide outbound sales and customer service support for prospective borrowers.
  • Communicate information to potential borrowers related to qualifications and benefits of the Ascent loan products and services.
  • Guide prospective clients to ensure they review and understand their loan options.
  • Make 100-250 outbound warm lead calls daily.
  • Record customer interactions, open/close activities in homegrown CRM.
  • Perform responsibilities following standard operating procedures to meet or exceed documented service level goals.
  • Follow and understand all compliance and operational guidelines to ensure major areas of responsibilities are completed to compliance guidelines and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years working in customer service position performing phone and administrative responsibilities; consumer finance or student loan experience is a plus.
  • A desire to work in an efficient, results-oriented outbound call center environment.
  • Previous high-volume outbound call center experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills (empathic listener & persuasive speaker). The ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Inside sales experience and benefit selling is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize, be organized, and manage time effectively to meet service level goals.
