ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research parcel ownership and contact information for landowners as needed.
  • Understands and/or determines land ownership information through review of provided data, deeds, plat books, and tax roll research, etc.
  • Actively initiate calls, send texts, and emails to prospective landowners, striving for engagement and potential collaboration.
  • Conduct in-person visits to landowner properties when required, ensuring direct and clear communication about the company's propositions.
  • Clearly introduce and explain developmental opportunities to potential landowners, emphasizing benefits and potential collaborations.
  • Provide comprehensive information about the company, ensuring landowners have a clear understanding of the company's objectives and credibility.
  • Offer detailed insights into specific projects, ensuring landowners have a complete understanding of what's entailed and the benefits they stand to gain.
  • Skillfully convince interested landowners about the benefits of the project, aiming to move them to the next phase of discussions.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of engaged landowners to the company's developers for detailed project discussions and potential agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach efforts, successful engagements, and transitions to developers.
  • Continuously update knowledge on industry trends, best outreach practices, and available tools/resources to optimize engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with developers to obtain feedback on handed-over landowners, using insights to refine and improve engagement strategies.
  • Regularly assess and improve outreach methodologies, ensuring high response rates and optimizing landowner engagement experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years’ experience in land acquisition preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in real estate, particularly in land acquisition
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in calling and engaging with potential landowners through various communication channels.
  • Strong skills in negotiating with landowners and presenting developmental opportunities persuasively.
  • Adeptness in using multiple data sources, including deeds, plat books, tax rolls, and online databases to identify land ownership.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with potential and existing landowners.
  • Knowledge in GIS and prospecting tools is required.
  • Continuous update on industry trends, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in discussions with landowners.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate and organized records of all outreach and engagement activities.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions and feedback loops.
  • Experience and expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Hands-on experience with the day-to-day management of projects and demonstrated track record of successfully managing landowner engagement from initial contact to signing.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to lead diverse project teams in multiple regions.
  • Experience and expertise with County Appraisal District websites, online courthouse records, etc.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge and experience with mineral rights, Mineral Ownership Reports (MORs), and websites/databases like RRC, SONRIS, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
