The NIC produces a variety of all-source, IC coordinated intelligence reports, including its flagship product, the National Intelligence Estimate, which represents the Intelligence Community's most authoritative statement on a key national security issue.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Produce and lead Community-coordinated, current and long-term strategic analysis on Military and security Issues. Serve as subject matter expert and advise the DNI on military and security issues in support of the DNI's role as the principal Intelligence adviser to the president.

Oversee IC-wide production and coordination of National Intelligence Estimates and other community products (IC Assessments, IC Briefs, and Sense of the Community Memoranda) concerning military issues.

Collaborate with senior policymakers on intelligence priorities to guide intelligence analysis.

Regularly author expert assessments of critical military Issues for the President, DNI and other senior policy makers. Develop and sustain a professional network with IC analysts and analytic managers to ensure timely and appropriate intelligence support to policy customers regarding military issues.

Brief senior IC members, policy makers, military decisionmakers, members of Congress, and other major stakeholders as necessary on military issues.

Drive and coordinate the research and production plans on military issues of the Community's analytic components, identify redundancies and gaps, direct strategies to address gaps, and advise the DNI on gaps and shortfall in analytic capabilities across the IC.

Serve as a member of the NIC Council, including aligning military analytic program with other NIO programs, sharing insights, and developing cross-cutting assessments.

Build productive relationships with other NIC teams, working seamlessly on crises and cross-functional issues

Lead a professional staff in successfully defining and managing complex programs and projects that may include ill-defined requirements, ambiguity, parallel tasks, multiple dependencies, high risks, and multiple interfaces; ensure timelines, costs, deliverables, and outcomes are achieved according to approved plans.

Establish and manage liaison relationships with academia, the business community and other non-government subject matter experts to ensure the IC has a comprehensive understanding of military issues.

Oversee the activities of the NIC Weapon and Space Systems Intelligence Committee (WSSIC) which is responsible for producing all-source, Community-coordinated finished intelligence products on weapons-related topics; assigning IC-wide designators to newly-identified foreign weapon systems; identifying improvements needed in analysis and reporting,; and promoting exchanges of information among IC components in connection with the technical characteristics and capabilities of weapon and space systems.
