Project Support Specialist

ASRC Federal (AFSS) is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking Project Support Specialist to provide temporary support to the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) Ground Segment Project for a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD. This is a temporary position expected to cover mid-August to mid-December 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative project support to the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) Ground Segment Project.

  • Create, document, and implement a Standard Operating Procedure for internal teams to onboard new hires.

  • Meet with subject matter experts to understand current new hire processes including milestones for NASA Identity, Badging, IT Access and Authorization, and ordering necessary resources (computer, cell phones, specific software etc.)

  • Create onboarding guide for managers which specifically identify processes, milestones, and procedures for successful new hire onboarding.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trainer for project team members to learn the new onboarding procedure.

  • Create and implement orientation process.

  • Collaborate with GeoXO Communication Specialist and project teams to create an onboarding guide that highlights the NASA/GSFC mission, the GeoXO Program and the GeoXO Flight and Ground Segments.

  • Collaborate with SMEs to identify support groups for new hires.

  • Facilitate new hire orientation.

  • Act as a guide to introduce new hires to GeoXO Program, Flight and Ground Segment team members.

  • Individual will pro-actively interface with all levels of management and other program team members to ensure the GeoXO has areas of administrative support covered as needed.

  • Store files on SharePoint site.

  • Support meetings and reviews including preparation of schedules, agendas and charts, taking notes and promoting process improvements.

  • Support the creation of presentations utilizing the PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements :

  • Ability to support in office at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland preferred.

  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams.

  • Must be proactive and quick to respond to customer requests.

  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience or 3-4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
