POSITION SUMMARY:   

Hess Corporation is a leading global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Our portfolio is about evenly split between unconventionals and conventionals; U.S. and international; and onshore and offshore. Three quarters of our production is liquids versus gas. We have three major operating areas: onshore, offshore, and exploration.

As a Land Team intern within the Hess Onshore Land team, you will become an immediate asset to Hess by working relevant projects while enhancing your skillset with support from a Land Manager on a land team with Land Techs, Division Order Analysts, Lease and Contract Analysts.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with interest owners to resolve issues and questions and to pursue transaction opportunities
  • Conduct and direct due diligence activities in support of trades, acquisitions, divestitures and related transactions
  • Read title opinions and direct title curative or other activities as needed to protect company assets
  • Manage Unit and Well inventory for asset teams and assist in preparing drilling locations for handoff to construction and drilling
  • Engage and assist on-the-ground teams with surface access issues as they arise, which will include travel to the assets
  • Review leases and contracts to ensure contemplated activities are permissible and advise/negotiate where issues with existing agreements can be improved for the company

Internships are 12 weeks during the summer months. Possible travel to the Minot, North Dakota Office of 1 to 2 weeks included in the internship.
