The Birmingham Department of Veteran Affairs is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Professional staff is seeking a Physician (Hematologist/Oncologist), part time and full-time options available. The physician will actively participate in teaching and supervising the Hematology and Oncology fellows' clinics, and will also have his/her own clinic. The physician will supervise the infusion area on clinic days. The physician will assist in covering the inpatient consult service in conjunction with the hematology/oncology fellows. The physician will be encouraged to participate in the Cancer committee and in multidisciplinary tumor boards. Other opportunities will include participation in clinical research, quality improvement, and committee memberships. Will include on-call and weekend obligations, although after hours and weekend rounding are very rare. The candidate must be Board Certified/Eligible in hematology and/or medical oncology and Board Certified in Internal Medicine.


Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Subject to change based on agency needs.
