Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider - Hematology/Oncology Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hematology/Oncology team at UA Health Services Foundation. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for evaluating and managing acutely ill hematology patients, performing procedures within the defined specialty scope of practice, and coordinating patient care from admission through discharge. The ideal candidate will have prior Hematology/Oncology experience and knowledge of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, including the management of side effects.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and manage acutely ill hematology patients
  • Perform procedures within the defined specialty scope of practice
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of our clinical programs
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with an Acute Care NP or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing or licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment
What We Offer:
  • Full-time, benefited position
  • 14-16, 12 hr - PM shifts per month (6pm-6am)
  • Weekends, holidays, and on-call time required
  • CME allowance: Full-time benefited APPs receive an annual $2,000.00 CME allowance
