What to ExpectAs the Commissioning Field Engineer Mechanical Systems for Tesla's Manufacturing factory in Sparks, NV, you will play a key role in maintaining site quality standards. You will support the Site Manager, oversee all QA/QC processes, and ensure safe, quality installations through collaboration across functional groups. This role requires strong technical judgment and creative problem-solving skills to support field operations effectively.What You’ll Do
  • Review/approve contractor site quality plans and procedures
  • Develop/review Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s) per project specs
  • Oversee site QA/QC processes, procedures, testing, and inspections
  • Manage site RFI/FCN/NCR processes
  • Establish/manage site turnover documentation
  • Schedule resources for inspection/testing of construction efforts
  • Supervise quality team and ensure training for Field Quality Engineers
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in a multi-disciplinary QC/QA role (heavy industrial, oil & gas)
  • Experience on $500M+ projects, both “owner” and “contractor” sides
  • Manage construction site QA/QC programs and knowledge of industry codes
  • Experience performing quality audits
  • Knowledge of quality principles and application to various functions
  • Understand corrective actions for nonconforming conditions and regulatory impacts
