MAJOR FUNCTION

  • Support the development, alignment, and industrialization of the Quality Planning Process within Product Development projects across all business entities involved (product management, R&D, production sites, distribution centers and key suppliers)
    • Identify & drive continuous improvements within the NSD Quality Planning process & tools and align on level,
    • Identify & support Quality Planning skill development and align on global level,
  • Secure that the Quality Planning work stream deliverables within New Solution Development (NSD) projects are met & support team efforts to meet project goals (time, cost, specification, quality).
    • Support the development of the Quality targets within projects,
    • Develop and effectively manage the successful execution of the Quality Plan. Identify and work with core project team personnel to address risks. Provide regular (weeklyor bi-weekly) progress updates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Management System
  • Support Quality Management System (applicable ISO or internal standards), improvement and maintenance, including internal layered and process, system audits,
  • Manage and coordinate internal, external audits to ensure compliance and certification,
  • Support preparation and execution of Management Review Meetings with project overviews (NSD content),
  • Ensure alignment with corporate systems, procedures, and processes,
  • Progress the development and implementation of proactive and prevention-based quality controls in project phase,
  • Promote standardization, identification, and implementation of best practices across business entities involved in NSD projects,

New Solution Development
  • Provide input into the development and continuous improvement of all NSD process work streams.
  • Develop historical analysis on the predecessor product to document the quality plan.
    • Identify and communicate designs or parts with historical quality issues to prevent propagation.
  • Develop & manage the execution of the Quality Plans on multiple NSD projects. Ensure alignment (across sites, strategic sourcing, R&D, supplier quality etc.). Includes:
    • Quality plan reflective of development through execution phases, to support concurrent development of the product design and manufacturing process,
  • Identify, execute, support, and follow up improvement projects that impact Total Cost of Poor Quality (TCOPQ) as per the scope of the NSD project: warranty expenses, in process losses, inspection, quality assurance delivering savings as per project objectives,
  • Work with Test Engineers to ensure that the test and verification plans are sufficient to meet the reliability demonstration plan. Review test failures and actively analyze and communicate the impact of proposed solutions on the reliability demonstration plan,
  • Facilitate the development and use of a quantitative Risk assessment tool within the product development process.
    • Forward transparency of quality plan execution risks ensuring they are escalated & resolved in a timely manner,
  • Prepare training materials and deliver training sessions on the NSD Quality Planning (QP) process and tools,
  • Provide continual coaching to NSD project team members on specific applications of core/support quality tools,
  • Update NSD QP schedules, develop presentations for gate meetings, prepare status reports, manage documentation NSD QP core processes, and estimate status of KPIs identifying and addressing gaps,
  • Organizes, documents, and follows up quality reviews,
  • Identify risks related to the quality plan as well as propose and follow up mitigation actions,
  • Ensure to set and meet with NSD project Quality targets,
  • Ensure to meet NSD QP KPI's
    • Execution, quality plan activities successfully completed per schedule,
    • Effectiveness, Quality plan deliverables and targets met at defined levels,
    • Skills development & Ownership, Quality planning skill and execution capability development across all core-functional areas,
  • Escalate in case QP deliverables are violated.

Assists customers in resolving quality related problems with the machines and parts by determining the cause and solution acceptable to the customer during project phase.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
  • MS/BS in Engineering

EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 + years of experience supporting a manufacturing and/or product development engineering teams with a strong bias for quality engineering principles,
  • Proven Project Management skills & experience,
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requested,
  • Lean Manufacturing certified (Six Sigma, DMAIC).

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
  • Very strong project management skills, with experience facilitating planning and progress reviews with global team members in Asia, Europe and Americas,
  • Very strong organizational and time management skills,
  • Highly Self-motivated with a high level of initiative,
  • Experience in use of quality analysis/planning/validation tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC & PPAP,
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of statistical analysis software such as Minitab, or similar,
  • Knowledge about improvement processes/methods like Six-Sigma & Lean,
  • Good problem-solving skills with ability to teach basic problem-solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events,
  • Good engineering analysis skills,
  • Strong presentation and team skills,
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills,
  • High level English language fluency with both verbal and written communication,
  • Strong interpersonal skills,
  • Proficient in use of MS Office and ability to work with complex excel workbooks,
  • Capability to learn new software,
  • Ability to travel internationally.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP,
  • Software for statistical analysis. (Minitab),
  • Capability to learn new software,
  • Domestic and International travel is required in this position.
