Responsibilities

The Senior Liability Adjuster is responsible for conducting office investigations and adjusting commercial general liability claims that are largely litigated and exposures up to and over policy limits. The Adjuster is also responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Handling large and catastrophic losses
  • Investigating losses and identifying coverage issues
  • Determine what falls under coverage and what does not
  • Assigning panel counsel to defend our insured(s)
  • Working with counsel to develop litigation plan to resolve underlying claim
  • Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and medical records
  • Establishing damages and reserves
  • Processing payments
  • Taking statements from insured's, claimants, and witnesses
Qualifications
  • 10 plus years of prior experience handling liability claims
  • at least 5 years of experience handling large and catastrophic losses
  • Bachelor's degree and Attorney license a plus
  • Able to understand coverage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Able to occasionally travel to hearings, mediations, trials, and conferences.
