Planning and Coordinating Facilities Operations and Services:

Coordinates work for interior space changes and renovations, office moves, and provision of furniture and furnishings. Coordinates trades to address facilities problems for interior and exterior settings.

Meets with newly elected Senators and their staffs to brief them on services available and modifications to office space.

Provides information on the procedures, rules, and options available for setting up office accommodations. Provides information on options available when desired services exceed authorized limitations.

Service Request and Project Management:

Reviews service requests from Senators, committees, and their staff. Designs office space plans and communicates design via CADD drawing and hand sketches.

Determines the availability of materials from inventories and availability of trades and crafts manhours. Obtains commitments on materials and labor and schedules the work to be performed.

Provides notice to inventory and furniture branch supervisors of material requirements to allow time to schedule acquisition of materials.

Oversees the automated web-based Senate Move Requestor and the Senate Decorator modules which track the status of projects for SOB clients.

Planning and Coordinating Facilities Operations and Services:

Monitors buildings and grounds operations to identify and forestall potential or resolve existing concerns. Inspects facilities and systems and monitors changes in facilities or equipment use.

Advises the Superintendent and clients on material availability, prospective delays, and any other related problems.

Reviews service requests from Senators, committees, and their staff for changes in office space layout; addition or removal of wall partitions; movement of automated equipment; relocation of electrical outlets or switches; changes to carpeting and upholstery; painting, paneling, or upholstery changes; and similar requests.

Inspects facilities and systems and monitors changes in facilities or equipment use. Inspections include interior condition assessments of paint, plaster, masonry, furniture, and other architectural finishes.
