Market Development Representative (Timberland PRO)

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Market Development Representative at Timberland PRO looks a little like this.

The Market Development Representative will represent Timberland PRO with key account retailers and other prospective customers while developing long-term business relationships. Working in tandem with a Senior Account Executive (AE), you will identify opportunities to place Timberland PRO footwear, grow assortment and make sure PRO shows up properly visualized in all points of distribution. You'll be a trusted member of our team reporting to a Senior Account Executive.

Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. You will:

Collaborate and liaise with the regional sales teams, and work closely with the Sales Planning and Marketing teams to support account needs. Assist the Senior AE with selling to and managing key accounts. Be responsible for all new product templates, technical clinics, merchandising and promotions and special events for these key accounts with local, regional, and national touches determined by the Senior AE. Additionally, you may take part in the same on a broader national level decided by the Director of Sales or the National Sales Manager. Be accountable for accurate reporting of all activities back to the Senior AE on a weekly basis and may be asked for additional reporting as deemed necessary by the Senior AE from time to time. Attend regional and national tradeshows when necessary. Create a service distinction with these key retail partners through detailed account visit planning and a thorough understanding of our customer's business. Develop a thorough understanding of the marketplace (competitor information, consumer understanding, current/future market opportunities, etc.) Ensure proper visual standards are being adhered to by our customers, work proactively and collaboratively with the Senior AE to properly leverage marketing programs, and support and leverage Timberland's commerce and justice platform. What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundational skills you'll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1+ years of experience of selling experience (retail/outside/telephone).

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

Experience in communicating with managers, directors, vice presidents and executives A proven sales track record with demonstrated success in achieving quota Experience with following sales processes and using CRM (Salesforce a plus) A quick learner and fast on your feet Incredibly organized and detailed oriented Motivation to break into new opportunities with a creative edge Natural leader and the gift of inspiring others A clear communicator and a sense of urgency to get the job done Location requirement: While this position is fully remote, the ideal candidate will reside within Southeastern United States to better service the client base. There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

Hiring Range:

$52,000.00 USD - $65,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
