PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists organizational leadership in planning and implementing effective programs of curriculum, instruction, supervision, and assessment
  • Develop and maintain a culture that embodies New Story Schools values and brings the mission/vision to life. The culture should be characterized by a welcoming atmosphere in which respect, disciplined behavior, hard work, and high achievement is expected of all students and staff.
  • Provide high quality, time, and effective communication from New Story Schools leadership to staff, students, executive team, and other internal
  • Support and mentor supervisors and staff, including completion of performance reviews and interviewing of new
  • Maintain frequent communication with the Director of Inclusion Services
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with partner schools and other community networks. Represent New Story Schools to the external community.
  • Help manage staff call-offs
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of all Inclusion documents
  • Monitors Student Programming
  • Coordinates with all other New Story/TLS leadership as needed

KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to foster a positive school climate and culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Self-directed and well organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and focus on issues that will most contribute to the growth and success of New Story Schools.
  • Ability to develop, motivate, and lead committed and talented professional staff
  • Demonstrates strong decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Thorough understanding of Ohio Department of Education regulations impacting private schools

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant field
  • 5 years' experience in a school environment with children with learning and behavioral challenges; I year of which was in a leadership position.
  • Commitment to and experience with students from diverse backgrounds with unique academic and behavioral needs
