Communication Intern - Houston, Texas

DEPARTMENT: COMMUNICATIONS
Purpose:
The intern will contribute to the Communications Department processes while learning, training, and improving skills in that particular area to gain a profound understanding of processes, products, and services. The intern will primarily be responsible for creating dedicated content development (design, writing, etc.), as well as publishing on some of our existing channels in the southern offices region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Organizing and cataloging diverse content assets, including articles, graphics, videos, and other multimedia materials.
- Assisting in drafting, editing, and proofreading various communication materials such as press releases, articles, and social media posts.
- Conducting research on industry trends and best practices to support communication strategies.
- Supporting the planning and execution of public relations initiatives and events.
- Managing and updating social media platforms with engaging content.
- Collaborating with the Communications team to plan and schedule content releases across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with company messaging and objectives.
- Optimizing content for different channels, ensuring it is engaging and relevant.
- Tracking and analyzing content performance metrics using analytics tools to assess engagement, reach, and effectiveness. Using insights to refine future content strategies.
- Developing compelling written and visual content that resonates with our target audiences, including employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Crafting narratives that effectively communicate Tenaris’ key messages, values, and achievements, ensuring consistency with brand voice and style guidelines.
- Collaborating with designers and multimedia specialists to create infographics, videos, and other visual assets that enhance content impact and engagement.
- Quickly adapting content creation strategies to accommodate changing priorities, market dynamics, and emerging communication trends.
- Using creative software like Canva and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) to design visually appealing graphics, layouts, and digital assets for various communication channels.
- Writing clear, concise, and compelling articles, blog posts, and press releases that capture attention and convey complex information in an accessible manner.
- Proposing and implementing innovative content ideas and formats to enhance audience engagement and drive brand awareness.
- Ensuring all created content maintains brand consistency in terms of tone, style, and messaging across different platforms and media.
- Cooperating in the development of new opportunities by identifying areas for improvement.
- Complying with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, and ensuring adherence to all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Protecting from damage, theft, or misuse the facilities, equipment, and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or Creative Media.
- Proficiency in Canva.
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and messaging apps like WhatsApp.
- Proficiency in editing, writing, and maintaining a consistent style.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data effectively.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and platforms
- Strong presentation skills with an innovative and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Analytical mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to work full-time (less than 40 hours per week) during the summer, transitioning to part-time (less than 20 hours per week) during the school year.
