Department Overview

Position Summary

The ideal candidate is a highly creative visual content creator and storyteller adept at using new communications tools, artistry and channels to engage internal and external audiences.  

They will collaborate and bring creative thinking and innovative approaches as they take each project from the idea stage, through the design and production process to sharing on social media channels - while meeting deadlines along the way.

This position is a hybrid position based from the Oakland General Office with occasional on site attendance required. Some travel is required.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $19.56 to $34.07

Responsibilities

  • Create visual content for social media and internal channels.
  • Post content to PG&E's social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Nextdoor, Threads and others.
  • Provide social media channel support at times.
  • Provide photography and video.
  • Provide meeting support (photography/video).

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship
  • Experience in social media content creation
  • Experience with digital production/editing software
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 20 percent of schedule)
  • Strong writing skills and proven ability to create clear and engaging content.

Desired

  • Confidence working with coworkers at all levels.
  • Experience with multimedia tools and programs: ENG cameras, studio lighting, Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, Final Cut Pro X, Lightroom and Motion
  • Experience with social media platforms such as X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube is a plus.
  • A great attitude, and flexibility with last-minute changes.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for continued growth and learning.
  • Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
