Responsibilities

We receive emails from our activists who have engaged with us through our online advocacy program. We're looking for individuals who can help us find creative and innovative ways to modernize our response process and improve our speed of response. Help us revolutionize our response process and boost the speed of response to emails from our passionate activists.

Support reporting efforts to help tell our story both internally and externally. Draft presentations and processes within brand guidelines; draft and review advocacy communications Draft compelling national advocacy text messages for AARP's priority issue campaigns, including voter engagement, social security, caregiving, prescription drugs, and more Work on special projects under our national and state advocacy email, text messaging, direct mail, and advocacy fundraising portfolios Assist with AARP's online event management and organizing tool, Mobilize America You'll dive into drafting presentations and processes within brand guidelines
Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university, rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program Must be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Exceptional verbal/written communication skills Familiarity with creating and editing videos and knowledge of multiple social media platforms is a plus

Hybrid Work Environment

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
